The Chinese Foreign Ministry says Chinese Premier Li Keqiang will attend the annual East Asia leaders' meetings, and make an official visit to Malaysia, from Friday. Li will attend the 18th leaders' meeting between China and ASEAN; the 18th ASEAN-China, Japan and Republic of Korea leaders' meeting; and the 10th East Asia Summit.

"Premier Li will reiterate China's policy toward ASEAN. He will also promote closer ties within the China-ASEAN Community of Common Destiny, push forward construction of the maritime silk road and strengthen comprehensive cooperation under the 2+7 cooperation framework," said Liu Zhenmin, Chinese vice foreign minister.

The ministry said that Premier Li will also attend the fourth leaders' meeting of China and Central and Eastern European countries next week in the eastern Chinese city of Suzhou. China and the sixteen countries will discuss how to further promote cooperation and development in the next five years. A mid-term development plan will be released after the meeting.

"Premier Li and leaders of the 16 CEE countries will discuss how to enhance interconnectivity and further boost trade, investment, and cooperation in finance, agriculture and cultural exchanges. The meeting will inject new momentum into China-Europe relations," said Wang Chao, Chinese vice foreign minister.
