Photo List "Super Camera" Can Capture "High-Definition Movies" Of Living Cells

#Tech24HThe RIED microscopy technology, jointly developed by Zhejiang University and Harbin Institute of Technology, breaks the traditional tradeoff between seeing clearly and seeing for long in optical microscopy. Without requiring external laser excitation, it relies solely on the faint light emitted by chemical reactions themselves to resolve nanoscale structures inside living cells. This novel microscopy technique completely eliminates the dependence on "light excitation" that has long constrained classical microscopes, opening a new door for optical imaging. For the first time, it enables threedimensional, highspatiotemporalresolution imaging of multiple organelles in living cells, achieving a spatial resolution of 100 nanometers, which can compare to current mainstream fluorescence superresolution techniques for living cells. More importantly, this new method not only solves the problem of seeing clearly, but also overcomes the fundamental limitation of fluorescence microscopy: high resolution typically requires strong laser excitation, which kills cells.[ By Zhang Liyan | Tang Ruohan ]
