Photo List World's Largest Pure BatteryPowered Aircraft Completes Test Flight

#Tech24HSwedish Heart Aerospaces X1 demonstrator aircraft recently took off from Plattsburgh International Airport in New York State, climbing to a maximum altitude of 335 meters and completing a full flight sequence including taxiing, takeoff, climb, airborne maneuvers, and landing, with a total duration of 27 minutes. This is the largest pure batterypowered aircraft to have actually completed a flight to date. During the flight, the X1 operated solely on batteries, with its electric propulsion system delivering over 1 megawatt of power, while the electricity cost for the entire test flight was about 5 dollars (approximately 33.8 yuan). This figure sounds highly attractive, and Heart Aerospace regards the low energy cost as a key advantage for promoting the commercialization of electric aviation. However, from getting off the ground to flying far, electric aviation still faces technical challenges.[ By Zhang Liyan | Tang Ruohan ]
