Photo List Two Major Leaps in China's Rocket Recovery

【#Tech24H】In just over a month, China has marked two historic milestones. On July 10, the Long March 10B rocket, developed by the First Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), precisely landed in a “net capture system” on an offshore platform, completing the world’s first rocket net-based recovery. On August 19, the Zhuque-3 Y2 rocket, developed by private company LandSpace, made a smooth vertical landing on the recovery pad, achieving China’s first land-based recovery of a launch vehicle. These two major steps, one at sea and one on land, have simultaneously validated two technical pathways for rocket recovery in China’s space program. The steps have filled a critical gap in reusable rocket technology. At the same time, they have propelled China’s commercial space industry into a historic leap forward, accelerating its transition toward a new track of airline-style operations, high-frequency launches, and low costs.
