【#Tech24H】Google’s DeepMind has unveiled its new multilingual signlanguagetotext model SL2T. The signlanguage AI technology is officially integrated into the Pixel 11 system, marking the very first deployment of signlanguage AI on mainstream consumergrade electronics and bridging interaction gaps for the hearingimpaired on smart terminals. The newly launched SL2T model is initially adapted for two builtin Pixel 11 tools: Gboard keyboard and Live Transcribe. Once the device’s frontfacing camera captures the user’s gestures, users can sign to finish tasks that once required manual typing, including message composition, web searches, and conversations with the Gemini largelanguage model. Beta test data indicates that text input via American Sign Language delivers higher efficiency and greater naturalness than physicalkeyboard typing, greatly elevating the overall communication experience. [ By Zhang Liyan ]
