【#Tech24H】At 11:00 on May 14, the enhanced Zhuque-2E Y5 carrier rocket lifted off from the Dongfeng Commercial Space Innovation Pilot Zone. The rocket performed normally throughout its flight, with its second stage entering the intended orbit, marking a complete success for the flight test mission. This was the maiden flight of the extended version of the enhanced Zhuque-2 rocket. The enhanced Zhuque-2E Y5 is a two-stage, cryogenic, extended liquid carrier rocket developed through systematic iterative design. It has a diameter of 3.35 meters, a fairing with a maximum diameter of 4.2 meters, a total length of approximately 55.9 meters, a liftoff mass of 267 metric tons (excluding payload), and a liftoff thrust of 338 metric tons. This model has a payload capacity of 4 metric tons to a 500 km Sun-synchronous orbit and 6 metric tons to Low Earth Orbit, enabling flexible adaptation to various mission requirements such as multi-satellite launches and large-deployment configurations. It can also form a combined launch service solution with the reusable Zhuque-3 rocket. [ By Zhang Liyan | Tang Ruohan ]
