【#Tech24H】Amazon will stop providing technical support for Kindle devices released before 2012 as of May 20, 2026. These devices will no longer be able to access the Kindle Store, and will be largely unable to load any new content, meaning affected devices will no longer be able to directly purchase, borrow, or download new books. After May 20, users will only be able to read content that has already been downloaded to their devices. If an older device is deregistered or factory reset, it will not be able to be re-registered or reactivated after May 20. According to reports, Amazon has sent notification emails to affected users.
