
【#Tech24H】On the morning of March 31, China’s first 7-ton-class fixed-wing cargo drone, the Changying-8, successfully completed its maiden flight at Zhengzhou Shangjie Airport. Independently developed by Beihang UAS Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Norinco under the China North Industries Group?, this drone is China's first 7-ton-class unmanned cargo platform validated through actual flight tests, earning it the nickname “air heavy truck.” According to reports, the Changying-8 features a large, unobstructed cargo compartment of 18 cubic meters, a takeoff weight of 7 tons, and a maximum payload of 3.5 tons, meeting diverse loading requirements such as general supplies, fresh cold-chain goods, and emergency equipment. Its maximum range exceeds 3,000 kilometers.
