Beijing, October 22 (Youth.cn) - Photo taken at Xingkang Bridge in Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province on October 18th. The Xingkang Bridge is 1411 meters’ long with 1100 meters’ main span. The surface of the bridge is 239 meters’ higher than the surface of the Dadu River. Constructed among big mountains and valleys, the huge bridge is supported by two-tower two-anchor structures and adapted tunnel-anchor construction technology. An 159-meter tunnel was dug on one side of the river while a huge steel frame made by thousands tons of steel and injected with 8600 cubic meters of concrete was set on the top of the tunnel to keep the suspension cable stable. On the other side of the river, the largest gravity anchorage in the world was set to assure the bridge’s security. Photo/VCG
