“I used to be unable to take part in physical education classes, but I went into competitive sports.” At the age of 7, Tan Yujiao got a disability in her right leg because of an illness. During the six years of primary school, she did not take a physical education class. She now has 43 gold medals and 21 world records.
On the evening of September 21, at an event held at Nankai University, Tan Yujiao said that she looked forward to continuing to surpass herself, issuing more Chinese voices, and contributing to safeguarding the rights and interests of more disabled athletes.
