Beijing, May 16 (Youth.cn) - On May 15, 2025, in Shuixi Village, Shuixi Town, Zhanggong District, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, decorated dragon boats were launched into the water. Local villagers beat gongs and drums during the dragon boat launching ceremony to pray for national peace, favorable weather, and a prosperous year, warmly welcoming the arrival of the Dragon Boat Festival.

Dragon boat racing is a distinctive cultural activity of the Hakka people in southern Jiangxi. Every year before the Dragon Boat Festival, the local community holds a grand "sacrificial ceremony for dragon boats" to inaugurate the training for the upcoming year's dragon boat competitions. Photo/CFP
