Beijing, July 12 (Youth.cn) - Photo taken on July 11th in Haikou railway station. The first batch of mobile energy storage power stations were put into use in Hainan Railway cross-sea trains, which is the first use nationwide.
Each mobile energy storage power station can stock 645 KWH electricity, output power can reach 400 kW. The "huge power bank" provides electricity for air conditioners in the cross-sea train when there is no power supply unit in train or in station, helping reducing in-train temperature from 40℃ to 26℃.
As cross-sea trains go across sea on ships, with the limitation of deck length, one ship can only take part of the train. Therefore, it is needed to divided the train into several parts and code them. With traction of two traction engine, all parts of the train will be uploaded to the ships according to their codes. In this process, the train could not connect to the electric power. During this period of time, without air conditioning, passengers have to suffer from high temperature.
To solve this problem, the railway group, in cooperation with universities, institutes and companies, developed the mobile battery technology. The mobile energy storage power station, with 3-level anti-fire system, solved the problem of electricity-providing during dissembling and improved passengers' experience. Photo/VCG
