On July 15, according to a post from the Wechat official account of Cyberspace Administration of China, the "Apple Intelligence" large model submitted by Apple Technology Development (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. has officially passed the filing review by Chinese regulators, marking a key step for Apple in deploying generative AI services in China. It is reported that Qwen has confirmed it will provide part of the generative AI capabilities, while Baidu will continue to contribute search and Siri-related functionalities. Alibaba responded that Qwen will be integrated as an AI capability into Apple Intelligence, bringing intelligent experiences to Chinese users across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and visionOS. Users can directly access Qwen's text and image understanding, content generation, and other capabilities on Apple devices without switching between apps. In addition, the Apple-Baidu partnership focuses on developing AI-powered search capabilities, which are part of the "Apple Intelligence" feature suite, beyond image and text processing, they will also be used to upgrade the Chinese version of Siri.
