Elon Musk announced a “new” AI project on X: Digital Optimus. Digital Optimus specializes in the digital realm, which is an AI digital employee autonomously performing operations on a computer. It can understand the computer screen and manipulate the keyboard and mouse to complete a full range of daily office tasks. Regarding his new creation, Musk stated: “In principle, it could even simulate the operation of an entire company”. The idea is to go one step further than a “one-person company”. On the hardware side, Musk revealed several key points: Digital Optimus will run on Tesla’s own AI4 chip, consuming a quarter of the power of an H100, costing only $650, and will use only a minimal amount of NVIDIA computing hardware.
