【#Tech24H】Smart Logic recently unveiled for the first time “Tianqiong”, China’s first independently innovated and developed 3D (Three-Dimensional Architecture) scientific computer. It is 2 to 4 orders of magnitude faster than traditional two-dimensional architecture supercomputing systems. According to reports, the first Tianqiong prototype was delivered in 2022. It is the world’s first general-purpose 3D scientific computer and is currently located on the campus of ShanghaiTech University, hailed as a new generation “digital microscope” for exploring the “dynamic” laws of the microscopic world. The Tianqiong computer boasts the dual advantages of the MaPU algebraic processor architecture and fully 3D interconnected hardware. Actual tests show it can achieve molecular dynamics simulations of 5-10 microseconds per day, which is 2 to 4 orders of magnitude faster than traditional domestic supercomputing systems, placing it at an internationally leading level.
