Martina (Chinese name: Lin Mingyue) is a doctoral student in Civilizations of Asia and Africa at Sapienza University of Rome. In 2024, she came to Shanghai University as an exchange student. One day, while browsing in the campus bookstore, she came across the poetry collection Flying Low by Wang Jibing, a Chinese takeaway deliveryman known as the "deliveryman poet". One poem in particular, At Three in the Afternoon deeply moved her, as it reminded her of her own brother, who also works as a deliveryman in Rome—"both of them are people racing against time."
