【#Tech24H】On December 18, Volcano Engine released Doubao Large Model 1.8 (Doubao-Seed-1.8). This model has been specifically optimized for multimodal Agent scenarios. Its tool-calling capabilities, complex instruction-following abilities, and OS Agent functionalities have all been enhanced, improving the model’s planning and execution levels when handling complex tasks. In terms of visual understanding, the single-video comprehension frame count for Doubao 1.8 has doubled from 640 to 1,280 frames. The model supports understanding ultra-long videos at low frame rates and can call tools for high-frame-rate comprehension of key segments. This capability can be widely applied in scenarios such as online education and product quality inspection.
