【#Tech24H】On November 19, the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences announced that China’s major scientific projec, the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO), delivered impressive results just two months after operation: measuring solar neutrino oscillation parameters with an accuracy 1.5 to 1.8 times higher than the best previous experiments. The core of the JUNO detector is 20,000 tons of liquid scintillator contained in a giant acrylic sphere, which is currently the world’s largest acrylic container. This increases the volume of the liquid scintillator by 20 times compared to the largest international scale. This makes the detector like a highly sensitive “big eye”, capable of accurately capturing and detecting neutrinos.
