【#Tech24H】Corneal transplantation is the only effective treatment for severe corneal endothelial dysfunction, but donor scarcity limits its widespread application. Now, there is a potential solution. A team from Peking University Third Hospital, collaborating with Beihang University, has developed the world's first biodegradable corneal endothelial substitute, applicable for artificial corneal endothelial reconstruction. This breakthrough overcomes the limitations of traditional non-degradable materials and provides an innovative treatment strategy using a temporary substitute for corneal endothelial dysfunction.
