Scientists observe quantum effect in organic materials

【#Tech24H】Scientists at the Cavendish Laboratory of the University of Cambridge have, for the first time, observed a quantum effect in organic materials that was previously thought to exist only in inorganic metal oxides. These special organic molecules can leverage this quantum mechanism to convert light energy into electrical energy with extremely high efficiency. This breakthrough is expected to lead to simpler, lighter, and more affordable solar cells.
