【Tech 24H】On October 12, at the International Smart Breeding Forum of the 2025 World Agrifood Innovation Conference, the research team of Beijing Capital Agribusiness & Foods Group unveiled a new multi-gene editing breeding technology. This technology can complete gene editing of at least 20 sites in a single round at the cellular level, significantly improving gene editing efficiency. The newly announced technology overcomes the worldwide challenge of low efficiency in multi-gene editing, achieving precise editing of over 10 genes and large-fragment deletions in a single transfection. The world’s first new pig germplasm with synchronous editing of five disease-resistant genes has been successfully cultivated after using this technology, which marks China’s entry into the global leading ranks in livestock and poultry biological breeding.
