Decrypted documents published on the 19th on the official website of the Public Relations Center of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation reveal that Unit 731, the notorious biological warfare unit of the Japanese invading forces in China, continuously conducted human experiments to launch biological warfare. They even attacked hundreds of Chinese people with shells carrying pathogens to calculate infection rates and determine the "quality" of the pathogenic bacteria. The "History" section and "Archival Materials" column of the Federal Security Service's official website released digital copies and summaries of the decrypted documents provided by the Omsk Regional Branch.
On August 25 local time, the Russian Federal Archives Agency published an article on social media disclosing the written testimony of Tomio Karasawa, the production division chief of the Fourth Department of Unit 731 and a Senior Army Surgeon in the Japanese army.
