China Builds World's Largest Atom and Quantum Computing System
【Tech 24H】A collaboration between the University of Science and Technology of China and the Shanghai Research Center for Quantum Science/Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Laboratory utilized AI technology to achieve high parallelism operations with constant-time consumption independent of array scale. They successfully constructed defect-free two dimensional and three dimensional atomic arrays of 2,024 atoms within 60 milliseconds, setting a new world record for neutral-atom system scalability. This method lays a critical technical foundation for large-scale neutral atom and quantum computing.
