Beijing, April 27 (Youth.cn) - On April 26, 2025, the Taicang Port Area of Suzhou Port in Jiangsu Province buzzed with activity as the Shenzhen, the world’s largest car carrier by capacity, was loaded with BYD vehicles for its inaugural voyage to Brazil. Measuring 219.9 meters in length and 37.7 meters in width, the vessel features 16 decks and a staggering capacity of 9,200 standard-sized vehicles. Equipped with a high-efficiency main engine and a boil-off gas (BOG) re-condensation system, it meets the latest international maritime environmental standards.
Operated independently by BYD, the Shenzhen marks the company’s fourth specialized roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) vessel to enter service. On April 26, export vehicles were systematically loaded onto the carrier at Taicang Port, underscoring China’s expanding role in global automotive logistics. Photo/CFP
