Beijing, April 8 (Youth.cn) - On April 7, 2025, the National Chengdu Agricultural Science and Technology Center and the Urban Agricultural Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences showcased their self-developed 20-story unmanned vertical plant factory and key breeding laboratories.

The unmanned vertical plant factory is described as a high-efficiency agricultural system that utilizes high-precision environmental control for year-round continuous crop production. This system can operate in urban areas for food production and is also adaptable to challenging environments such as Gobi Desert and barren lands.
