Beijing, March 14 (Youth.cn) - March 12, 2025, Nantong, Jiangsu. Qidong COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry officially named its newly constructed NG-20000-class wind turbine installation vessel "Wind Pace" for Danish shipowner. This engineering marvel features a 5,600-square-meter deck space with payload exceeding 17,600 metric tons and main crane hoisting capacity surpassing 2,500 metric tons. Powered by a hybrid system combining diesel and electric propulsion, the vessel accommodates 130 crew members in its living quarters.
Equipped with next-generation dynamic positioning system and intelligent operation platform, the self-elevating vessel can transport and install seven complete 15MW or five 20MW+ ultra-large turbines in single deployment. Currently recognized as the world's most advanced and eco-friendly jack-up wind turbine installation vessel, its operational deployment will significantly accelerate offshore green energy development while enabling marine equipment decommissioning and recycling - a technological leap supporting carbon neutrality through resource circularity.
