Beijing, January 22 (Youth.cn) - On January 21, 2025, Nansha People’s Culture and Sport Compound is testing its facility equipment. The compound locates at the seaside of Ershiyi Chong in Nansha District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, serving as a large city compound for culture, tourism, and sport, with a capacity of 60 thousand seats, and a total area coverage of 186 thousand square meters.

Following the design language of the compound “a fan to welcome all, and pearls to shine the nation,” facilities of the compound sit along the coast of the sea like dotted pearls, while the stadium is set in the southeast corner for the best visual effect. Drawing inspirations from the traditional fan, the stadium features a roof designed to represent an open fan, with elements of traditional architecture - stacked tile. The aesthetics of the facade draws elements from the southern Cantonese culture, featuring designs of traditional sailing boats. The whole structure reflects the traditional design of architecture in the Lingnan region, like large eaves and broad airways, as well as the brownish gold color of the building. Photo/VCG
