Beijing, January 7 (Youth.cn) - On January 5, 2025, manufactured by China Merchants Industry's Jinling Shipyard (Jiangsu) for Italy’s Grimaldi Group, the hybrid powered ro-ro cargo ship "Eco Salerno" arrives at Yantai Port in Shandong Province. Measuring 238 meters in length and featuring a 7,800-meter-long vehicle lane, this hybrid ro-ro ship, the largest at the time, is equipped with state-of-the-art green technologies. Its scrubbers and lithium-ion batteries allow energy storage during navigation, ensuring zero emissions during port operations.
