Recent developments in the funeral industry have drawn attention, particularly as some students born after 2000 have opted to major in funeral services. Some are influenced by their parents, while others see it as a promising career path, though they often face the challenge of societal misunderstanding.
Through their studies and practical experiences, such as participating in special memorial ceremonies that pay tribute to life, these students gain a profound understanding of the industry's responsibilities. Despite the perception of high employment rates, the market demand is not as robust as anticipated, leading many to misconceive the realities of the profession.
However, the establishment of the first undergraduate program in funeral services has helped increase industry recognition. These students are hopeful for the future, aiming to overcome professional stigma and remain true to their passions and initial motivations within the field.
