On September 4, Beijing, at the intangible cultural heritage interactive display area of the 2024 Summit Forum on China-Africa Cooperation press center, Ismail from the Niger's Sahel Newspaper Group was painting a Wukong Mask.
The intangible cultural heritage interactive display area attracted the attention of many Chinese and foreign journalists who came to cover the 2024 Summit Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. The recent hit of the Chinese-made game Black Myth: Wukong has also made the Peking Opera mask-painting experience station quite popular. Many participants paint the Wukong Mask under the guidance of intangible cultural heritage inheritors to experience the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture. Ismail remarked that participating in such activities is an excellent way to learn about traditional Chinese culture.
