【#Tech24H】Microsoft is deploying the latest generation of its in-house chips in data centers, aiming to rely mainly on its own hardware to deliver computing power for its AI software. Microsoft said it expects to deploy several gigawatts of Maia chips across its server farms, with the latest generation, Maia 300, set to begin rolling out next year. Microsoft estimates that Maia 300 can process 40% more tokens per megawatt than leading GPU-based systems. It is reported that Microsoft, Amazon, and Alphabet's Google are all developing in-house AI accelerators, a move that could help reduce their reliance on Nvidia hardware.
