【#Tech24H】Led by Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, the world’s first space-based computing cloud that provides in-orbit test services to external users has officially begun offering routine in-orbit computing services. This space-based computing cloud consists of an in-orbit service platform for space-based computing, a ground station service platform, and an operations service platform. By integrating task orchestration, computing scheduling, data processing, and service provisioning across satellite platforms, space servers, ground stations, and ground data centers, it enables end-to-end automation of complex operations. Its value lies not only in sending computing power “into space”, but also in establishing a schedulable, reusable, and operable in-orbit digital infrastructure. This will drive the evolution of satellites from single-purpose mission carriers to networked intelligent nodes, and accelerate the transformation of the space information industry from “delivering hardware” to “continuously delivering services”, fostering new growth points for satellite internet, 6G, commercial aerospace, and emergency communications.[ By Zhang Liyan | Tang Ruohan ]
