【#Tech24H】Anthropic unveiled two major updates at once: Claude Sonnet 5 and Claude Science, an AI workbench tailored for researchers. Claude Sonnet 5 succeeds Sonnet 4.6, released this February, as the new mid-sized AI model in the Claude lineup. Positioned between the compact Haiku and the large-scale Opus, it emphasizes stronger agentic capabilities. Claude Science consolidates disparate tools into a unified research environment, covering every stage of scientific work, and supports iterative refinement of charts and manuscript drafts to publishable quality. Every output comes with a complete provenance trail, enabling researchers to verify and reproduce results. Users can run it within their existing environments, including local macOS or Linux systems, via SSH to remote machines, or directly on HPC cluster nodes.
