【#Tech24H】Elon Musk recently confirmed on the social platform X that SpaceX's low-Earth-orbit artificial intelligence computing project has been named Starmind. The project plans to launch up to 1 million computing satellites, leveraging orbital space to expand AI computing capacity. In terms of the transmission and networking architecture, Starmind satellites will interconnect with the Starlink system via high-speed optical links, with Starlink handling data relay and transmission to ground receiving stations. The complete solution achieves integrated networking across orbital computing, space-to-ground communication transmission, and ground terminal access, forming a complete space-based AI computing transmission chain. It is understood that SpaceX had already submitted relevant applications to the U.S. Federal Communications Commission on January 30, 2026, to advance this space-based AI orbital data center construction plan.
