【#Tech24H】Recently, in Damxung County, Lhasa, Xizang Autonomous Region, the second batch of 10 cloned yaks — all induced to become pregnant in a single batch and all naturally delivered — have survived the 100 days. This comes less than a year after the world's first genome-wide selection cloned yak, "Namtso No. 1," was born in Damxung County. The natural delivery of the second batch of cloned yaks marks that the composite technology of genome-wide selection and somatic cell cloning for plateau yaks has moved from laboratory validation to a stable, replicable, and mass-producible stage. The technological achievement is rapidly transforming into core competitiveness for the plateau livestock industry. [ By Zhang Liyan ]
