
【#Tech24H】At 21:32 on April 7, the Long March 8 carrier rocket lifted off from the Hainan commercial spacecraft launch site, successfully sending the seventh batch of networking satellites for the Global Multimedia Satellite Constellation into preset orbits in a “one rocket, 18 satellites” mission. The Long March 8 is a new-generation medium-lift two-stage liquid-propellant carrier rocket developed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC). It has a payload capacity of no less than 5.5 metric tons to a 700-km sun-synchronous orbit. The Global Multimedia Satellite is developed and operated by Shanghai Spacesail Technology Co., Ltd., focusing on providing high-speed, real-time, secure, and reliable integrated space-air-ground-sea solutions and services for the Belt and Road Initiative and Chinese enterprises going global.
