【#Tech24H】According to a NASA announcement on April 6, at approximately 1:57 p.m. Eastern Time, the ongoing Artemis II crewed lunar flyby mission broke the record for the farthest distance from Earth ever traveled by humans, previously set by the Apollo 13 lunar mission in 1970. According to NASA’s official website, the Orion spacecraft is expected to travel a total of 695,081 miles (approximately 1,118,624 kilometers) from launch to splashdown, and when closest to the Moon, it will be about 4,066 miles (approximately 6,544 kilometers) from the lunar surface. The Artemis II astronauts will return to Earth on Friday, April 10 (ET), splashing down in the ocean near San Diego with the aid of parachutes, concluding their 10-day mission.
