【#Tech24H】Multiple research institutions and universities, including the Xizang Plateau Institute of Biology, the Institute of Zoology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Hebei University, and Shanghai Normal University, have jointly discovered and formally named one new insect genus and 99 new insect species. The newly discovered genus is named Mouhotia (a carabid beetle genus), which is endemic to Medog County, Tibet. Among the 99 new species, 62 were found in Medog County, 22 in other regions of Xizang, and 15 in other provinces of China.
