【Tech 24H】Scientists at ETH Zurich have developed a DNA search engine named MetaGraph, providing a powerful specialized tool for life sciences research. The core breakthrough of MetaGraph lies in its use of mathematical "graph structures" to intelligently link overlapping DNA fragments. Its principle is similar to associating sentences containing the same keywords in a book index to form a knowledge network. The research team constructed an index spanning the full spectrum of life, including viruses, bacteria, fungi, plants, animals, and humans. This index covers 18.8 million unique DNA and RNA sequence sets, as well as 210 billion amino acid sequence sets.
