Intel Showcases World’s First 1.8nm Process Chip Wafer
【Tech 24H】On October 9, Intel showcased its upcoming 18A process technology chip. In a released photo, CEO Chen Liwu, who assumed the role in March, held a wafer of the next-generation Core processor, codenamed Panther Lake, at the company’s Arizona facility. It is reported that the new chip offers a 50% performance improvement at the same power consumption compared to Lunar Lake, hailed as "the pinnacle of Intel CPU energy efficiency." Alternatively, it reduces power consumption by 30% at equivalent performance levels compared to the previous-generation Arrow Lake-H processor.
