The 600 km/h Levitated Superconducting Maglev Train is coming
The world's fastest land vehicle - the 600 km/h levitated superconducting maglev train - debuted at the 12th World Congress on High-Speed Rail. This next-generation transport system achieves contactless levitation and propulsion through electromagnetic interaction between onboard superconducting magnets and track-mounted coils. During low-speed operations, the train runs on retractable rubber-tired bogies; upon reaching 150 km/h, the wheels retract enabling full levitation. The technology adapts to diverse terrains including ground-level tracks and tunnel environments.
