Beijing, April 29 (Youth.cn) - On April 28, 2025, in Hangzhou, the 2025 "Play Ground" Trend Life Carnival & Blast Furnace Grand Opening kicked off at Hangzhou’s Grand Canal Hanggang Park in Gongshu District. Centered on industrial heritage preservation and urban renewal, the festival features over 30 events, including forums, exhibitions, markets, and tech-driven experiences, with participation from more than 100 brands.
A flagship project of industrial revitalization, the park - designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Liu Jiakun’s team - preserves iconic structures like blast furnaces and coke ovens while blending ecological landscapes with modern commerce. Awarded the 2024 WLA World Landscape Architecture Award, the park will launch four seasonal themes in 2025 (culture, trends, outdoor activities, and cyber experiences), hosting 200 events annually to boost urban consumption.
The newly opened Blast Furnace Cultural Complex integrates diverse offerings such as the 101camp glamping site, Hangzhou Library’s Canal Branch, and China’s first BlanBunny Teahouse by brand BlanBunny. Combining art exhibitions and interactive tech, it pioneers a model for "synergizing industry, urban life, culture, and scenery." Future plans include introducing digital-cultural creative industries to transform the site into a "Digital Innovation Corridor," injecting fresh momentum into Hangzhou’s urban regeneration. Photo/CFP
