Beijing, January 17 (Youth.cn) - On January 16, 2025, at the Ailun Bay Marine Ranch in Rongcheng City of Weihai City, Shandong Province, under the morning sun, fishers are tending their kelp to create an ideal environment for the kelp to grow in winter, by changing the raft and clearing seaweeds.
Rongcheng is a national demonstration zone for the development of the marine economy, and owns 380 square kilometers of sea farms with 30 kinds of sea products, including fish, shellfish, and seaweed. Rongcheng has changed the direction of its ocean economy from the traditional sea farming to a technology driving and more eco-friendly one, developing integrated multi-trophic aquaculture and cutting down the scale of the traditional offshore agriculture. It has already brought Rongcheng an increase in development. Photo/VCG
