Beijing, January 13 (Youth.cn) - On January 10, 2025, Shanghai on weekends welcomes South Korea and Thailand tourists, who are making use of China’s visa-free policy.
East and Southeast Asia share a similar cultural background, which draws tourists to Shanghai. The Former Site of Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea in Shanghai, located in the Madang Road, holds historical significance, making it the first stop for many South Korea tourists enjoying their first visit to Shanghai during weekends. Data collected after the passing of the visa-free policy suggests that tourists from South Korea favor Shanghai, next in line Qingdao, then Beijing. Inbound tourism of Shanghai sees an increase of 180% for tourists from South Korea, comparing to last year. Photo/VCG
