Beijing, December 13 (Youth.cn) - Daliang fish lanterns made in Foshan, Guangdong Province are municipal intangible cultural heritage. Its invention started from Qing Dynasty. Draw patterns, fume and rive bamboos, make lantern frame, boil glue, apply voile on frame, color the voile and draw the “scales”, wash flakes and put them on the surface, put “eyes” on the “fish”, and put lights inside the “fish belly” - these are the procedures to make a fish lantern. Dozens kinds of fish lanterns reflect the prosperity of local fishing industry in ancient time. In 2013, Daliang fish lantern manufacturing skill was promulgated as the 4th batch of intangible cultural heritage list of district level.
