Beijing, November 28 (Youth.cn) - Groups of black-headed gulls were resting and seeking foods in Caohai National Nature Reserve in Guizhou Province. These days, migrate birds from Siberia region and Mongolia arrived at Caohai National Nature Reserve to stay for winter. Many tourists and citizens come there to admire birds and interact with them. According to the person in charge of Caohai National Nature Reserve, more black-headed gulls arrive at the nature reserve this year. Now we can see over 300 black-headed gulls staying there and playing with citizens. The nature reserve has the biggest freshwater lake in Guizhou Province and is home for several species of migrate birds. Every autumn and winter, 100 thousand migrate birds of over 200 species fly there to stay for winter, among which figure national class-A protected animals, black-necked cranes. These years, the local authority has paid efforts to turn farmland to forest and wetland. The construction of birds’ home has effectively improved local ecological environment and provided wider space and food choices for migrate birds. The nature reserve has become paradise for migrate birds in winter. Photo/VCG
