“Being Greener” is a prominent trend at the 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS).
The venue is greener. This year, the Environmental Services Exhibition area has relocated from the National Stadium to the Four Blast Furnaces in Shougang Park. These furnaces, once central to Shougang’s iron-making operations, now continue the industrial aesthetic while promoting resource efficiency and creating a new highlight for the sustainable utilization of industrial heritage in exhibitions.
The technology is greener. The latest green development achievements are on display at the Service Trade Association. Beneath a large screen monitoring energy consumption and carbon emissions in Beijing’s data centers, a fish-shaped liquid-cooled server is showcased, revealing the secrets behind data center energy conservation.
The discussions are greener. On September 12, guests from various countries engaged in green forums, including the Blast Furnace Forum, the Green Integration Digital Development Forum, the Global Green Economy Development Forum, and the third Meteorological Economy Forum. Green elements are integrated into multiple fields, and the Beijing International Metropolis Clean Air and Climate Action Forum will also take place during the event.
The actions are greener. An interactive machine for querying carbon ledgers in the Environmental Services section has attracted significant audience engagement. By entering a mobile number, participants can view their personal carbon ledgers. Reduced emissions across various scenarios are made visible, and accumulated low-carbon behavior points can be exchanged for consumption vouchers. Over six million people in Beijing have opened carbon ledgers, and the number is growing as more join the low-carbon movement.
