Beijing, September 13 (Youth.cn) - The 4th fish lantern show was held in Shengping Community, Foshan City, Guangdong Province on September 12th. Daliang fish lanterns, municipal intangible cultural heritage, were shown on the site. Daliang fish lanterns can be traced to the Qing Dynasty, dozens of patterns reflect the prosperousness of fishing industry in the region. To make one fish lantern, it requires several process: making a draft, fumigating bamboos, bamboo cutting, frame binding, heating glue, covering voile with wax, covering frame with voile, drawing and washing the "fish scales", coloring the "fish scales", hang cards below the lanterns, put "fish eyes" on the two sides of the lantern, put lights into the lanterns. Daliang fish lantern crafting skill was listed into the 4th batch of intangible cultural heritage list of district level in 2013 by Shunde District, while it was listed into the 7th batch municipal intangible cultural heritage list by Foshan city on September 25th 2019.
