Beijing, May 7 (Youth.cn) - China’s first mine water floating photovoltaic project put into operation on May 6th in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The 5.1-megawatt photovoltaic project is incorporated into Ningxia electric grid. It is the first high salinity, high mineralized mine water floating photovoltaic project in China that put into operation with full capacity. The project is a new example that developing new energy resources by making use of idle mine water area. The total installed capacity is 23 megawatt, with 32.39 million kilowatt-hour of annual power generation capacity. The project help saving 9,875 tons of standard coal and help reducing carbon dioxide emissions of about 27,000 tons. Photo/VCG
