Beijing, September 28 (Youth.cn) - On the morning of September 28th, 2023, at Xiamen North Station, the Fuzhou-Xiamen high-speed Railway Fuxing intelligent EMU G9802 made a stop, which marks that China's first cross-sea high-speed rail with a maximum speed of 350 km/h officially commenced operations.
The Fuzhou-Xiamen high-speed Railway begins in Fuzhou, passes through Putian, Quanzhou, and continues southward to Xiamen and Zhangzhou, with a total length of 277 kilometers and a total investment of 53.04 billion yuan. The line includes eight stations: Fuzhou South, Fuqing West, Putian, Quan'gang, Quanzhou East, Quanzhou South, Xiamen North, and Zhangzhou.
Following the opening, train travel time between Fuzhou and Xiamen will be reduced from approximately 2 hours to less than 1 hour, forming a "one-hour living circle" between the two cities.
